The 2008 Boston Freedom Rally was definitely one to remember... From the motto "No Cuffs for Cannabis" to the passage of Question 2 the following November, decriminalizing the possession of an ounce of marijuana in Massachusetts to a $100 civil offense...
But also for the 6 reported arrests, which was the lowest in many years. In prior years, we would unfortunately see the Boston Police enforcing the unjust marijuana laws, arresting hundreds of people on the Boston Common. Also, for the second year in a row, the Boston Police were not processing marijuana users by hauling them off to jail, they were simply issuing court summons for arraignment the following week.
